Similar to the academic traditions worldwide, the Christian Theology and Philosophy, today draw its sources from Science, History, Anthropology, Literature, Art etc. In Kerala, the study of Theology and allied subjects in the secular academic field with an interdisciplinary approach was achieved by the establishment of the Chair for Christian Studies at the University of Calicut in 1986.

Administration
Chair for Christian Studies and Research(CCSR) is governed by a Governing Body headed by Hon.Vice Chancellor. The Sponsoring Body of CCSR is Indian Institute of Christian Studies(IICS). The following are the Team CCSR
